“The agency was willing to help with the challenge and believed in the idea from the first moment, even before the award at Web Summit.”

MOB Agency assumed the digital strategy of CRE-MAR, the Portuguese startup that won the Road 2 Web Summit, a program coordinated by Startup Portugal and Web Summit.

CRE-MAR
, which was awarded at the world’s largest technology summit, has as its main goal to facilitate the process of cremation through a 100% online platform, in which it is possible to schedule the funeral service without having to travel to a specific location.

“The choice of MOB Agency for this partnership is justified by the meticulous work of analysis and its 360º delivery capacity. The agency was willing to help in the challenge and believed in the idea from the first moment, even before the award at Web Summit,” explains the founder of CRE-MAR, Vítor Oliveira.

Ivo Gomes, CEO of the MOB Agency, says: “When we die, we leave the hardest thing to those who remain. This is our way of taking some weight off people’s shoulders”.

CRE-MAR operates in the districts of Braga and Porto in partnership with local funeral companies and intends to expand the activity to the whole country already in the next year.

“We want to promote less painful funeral ceremonies,” says the founder of CRE-MAR, Vítor Oliveira, explaining that his company also makes diamonds from funeral ashes, a service that is available throughout the country.

The Portuguese startup also stands out for its more sustainable character, promoting the digital shift, since it works 100% online. The cremation process itself, explains Vítor Oliveira, is more environmentally friendly when compared to traditional funeral ceremonies.

“[CRE-MAR has a] creative and disruptive approach in an area that at the outset is not an area where no one imagines space for creativity,” said Secretary of State for Digital Transition, André de Aragão Azevedo, at a press conference at the Web Summit in Lisbon.
